Lewis Hamilton speaks to the press following Friday’s second free practice session around Spielberg.

With Lewis Hamilton doing the double and Pastor Maldonado easily in the points, we made a profit of £8 based on £5 per bet at the Canadian Grand Prix – and it could have been so much better had Kimi Raikkonen not spun and finished just outside podium.

But we can’t complain. This leaves is us with an overall loss of £10.50 for the season, so let’s see what we can do with the upcoming race in the Austrian hills…

ONE – You have to be a brave man to bet against Lewis Hamilton for this weekend and as it has been for most of the season, his odds to win the grand prix are incredibly short at around 1/2. Even the double of pole and race win is at a incredibly low 4/6. So it may be a bit of a risk, but I’m going for the treble of pole, race win and fastest lap. If you did fancy a cheeky outside bet for the race win, you can currently get Valtteri Bottas at 50/1 with Unibet.

Lewis Hamilton treble to take pole position, win and fastest lap treble – 5/2 (Ladbrokes)

TWO – Williams were really strong last year in Austria and I fancy the impressive Valtteri Bottas to sneak a podium this weekend. There is a good chance the Mercedes will go off into the distance but the race between Ferrari and Williams could be very interesting, and I believe the Finn in the white car can get on the podium.

THREE – Sergio Perez was beaten convincingly by his Force India team-mate Nico Hulkenberg at Montreal last time out, but with the Force India machine having the Mercedes engine that will be a great benefit this weekend, I’m going for Perez to finish in the points.

Sergio Perez to finish in the points – 1/1 (Betfair, Betfred, Betway, Boylesports, Paddy Power, Skybet, Stan James, Sporting Bet)

Good luck and remember to please bet responsibly.
